Trevor Stone Archive Exhibition, Cecil Sharp House, London

In 2009 Trevor Stone sadly passed away and the MoBF were bequeathed his archive. Trevor was a keen Long Sword Dancer as well as having spent many years recording, photographing and writing about the practise. Earlier this year his Granddaughter, Rosa Stone, who is currently studying on the Arts & Museum management course at the University of Salford, began to look at the archive with the aim of producing a project based around it. Part of the outcome was to digitise some of the archive to make the material publicly available online. It was decided that the MoBF would help Rosa to produce an exhibition alongside this and so we approached the English Folk Dance and Song Society in London. We are delighted to announce that the exhibition will open at EFDSS later this year, the dates to be announced in the Spring. The exhibition promises to give an insight not only into the archive but also into Rosa's unique treatment of the material.
