The Museum of East Anglian Life

In early March, Simon Costin and Mellany Robinson went along to meet with Tony Butler, the Director of the Museum of East Anglian Life in Stowmarket, Suffolk. The museum is currently involved with a major restoration project. Armed with Heritage Lottery funding, the beautiful Queen Anne country house, Abbots Hall, situated within the grounds of the museum site, will be restored to its former glory and provide a temporary exhibition space as well as several permanent exhibitions relating to ideas of 'home'.

Simon and Mellany went along to see the progress being made and to discuss mounting the inaugural exhibition, pending funding, when the house opens to the public next spring. The exhibition will highlight the amazing archive of Doc Rowe, Britain's foremost folklore archivist. For more information click here to visit the Museum of East Anglian Life website.
