The Doc Rowe Archive: 50 Years Focusing on Folk

On the 21st April the MoBF's latest exhibition opened at the Museum of East Anglian Life in Stowmarket. Kicking off at 2pm, Simon Costin interviewed Doc Rowe about his life and work before a host of musicians, singers and story tellers, brought together by Katie Howson of the East Anglian Traditional Music Trust ( ), performed in front of the gathered crowds. This was followed by the official opening of the exhibition in the newly renovated Abbots Hall, the latest jewel in the crown at MEAL.

The MoBF was able to digitise some of Doc's Super-8 footage from 1969 which he shot in Padstow. Unseen since then, MoBF enlisted the team at Prime Focus in London to carefully restore colour and clean the film to obtain the best results possible. The project was overseen by Martin Rogers the Archive and Restoration specialist at Prime Focus and we would like to extend our sincere thanks to him. We hope to be able to show some of the footage on the MoBF's website very soon.
